Google Hangouts: All Hangout Apps Will be Terminate After 25th April By Google

• Google Announces the termination of all Hangout supports.
• Consumer-facing hangouts will stop functioning from 25th April.
• Google divides the Hangouts into two sections viz. Meet and Chat.
• Enterprise apps like slack will continue to work without any worry.

According to recent mobile app technology news tech, giant Google made it clear earlier it will go to disable all the support Hangout application. But the words are spreading that support for the API has been already been ended and the Hangout app will stop working from 25th April.

There is not much notification or any alert for the developers and user of hangout apps just an onscreen message. The message tells all the application integrated with the Hangout support will cease to function from the coming 25 of this month.

Reason For This Decision

The main Agenda behind this discontinuation of API supports, Google is shifting the Hangouts from consumer to Enterprise-focused product.

Google divides the applications into two categories, Meet which is for video calling apps and other is Chat for messengers.Initially, Google Hangouts is created to enhance the social communication for the user but now the company is moving towards the enterprise scenarios.

This transformation of Hangouts leaning toward the enterprise doesn’t mean you can’t use the meet and chat as a consumer. If we consider mobile app technology news the company is trying to drive the consumer more towards its new chat tools Allo and Duo.

Relaxation For Some Enterprise App

There this also a good news for the business using the Hangouts ad Google is leaving some Enterprise Apps Untouched. Google is killing the consumer support for the Hangouts but at the same time, it’s not shutting the business apps using Hangouts.

Google Actually hasn’t released a complete list of the enterprise apps that will continue after 25th April. However, there are some names who don’t need to worry about moving into Meet or Chat category. Apps like Dialpad, RingCentral, Slack, Control Room and there are others too.

If you aren’t the above list you can check whether your app going to survive the termination of Hangout support. It is very easy just make a call using the app and look for the on-screen notification. If there is nothing then all is good you can go back to your work without any worry. But if there is notification pop-up then you need to look for some solution.
