Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Release Date, Price, News, And Rumors
Samsung fans must be getting geared up for the launch of Galaxy Note 9, which is expected to be launched next month. Note 9 is anticipated to fill the void in the smartphone arena which was created after the release of Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.
But besides all this, Samsung’s R&D team is equally focusing upon Galaxy Tab S4, which will be succeeding Galaxy Tab S3. With its robust performance and tons of features, Galaxy Tab S3 made its mark in the tab segment.
AndroidHeadlines, a web portal that covers all the Android developments, has come up with a leaked image that has sparked a lot of interest in the mobile industry. The image is quite identical to that of Galaxy Tab S3, but still, there seem to be significant changes in some of the areas.
The home button is missing from the place where it was the earlier placed. This hints at the removal of the home button, and with that, the possibility of a fingerprint sensor is also questionable. Samsung might compensate for this loss by embedding an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and if implemented, it will make the Galaxy Tab S4 first Samsung device to adopt the in-display fingerprint sensor.
Let’s unravel the mystery behind the leaked image.
If we look at the leaked pictures of Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, we can make out the bigger screen with thin bezels that might come with an aspect ratio of more than 4:3. The screen size is said to be 10.5-inch that will remove many of the sensors from the front. The left space may adjust the front-facing camera and maybe an “Iris Scanner.” One more thing that can be perceived is the missing Samsung logo from the front.
The back side of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is quite identical to that of Galaxy Tab S3 in terms of camera placement and design. The only visible difference remains to be in the Samsung logo placement, which has been further moved down.
The leaked image tab is in black color which was very much expected. Other than this, gray color may also make an entry with the launch of the tab.
Galaxy Tab S4 will be the latest entry in the tab segment, and Samsung will make sure to add the top of the features in its latest offering. As the rumors suggest, Tab S4 will be powered by the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC chipset. This processor will foster all the performance related issues, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Samsung may throw up an additional model with higher configuration, but that is not confirmed as of now. To set the ball rolling, depending upon the release of the Tab, Samsung will decide on the OS which will be packed in the Galaxy Tab S4. As of now, it shall be the latest Android 8.1 (Oreo) or who knows; it may bring Android P with it.
Tabs are never known for cameras, so if we take it into context, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will come with 13-megapixel lens camera on the back and 8-megapixel on the front. Don’t fall for the megapixels, Samsung can always stun you with its camera quality, be it a smartphone or a tab.
The battery pack is something that may be a cause for concern. As I analyzed previously, the Galaxy Tab S3 comes with 600 mAh of juice which wasn’t enough for me for such a tab. Therefore, I expect Samsung to extend at least 7,300 mAh capacity battery so that the tab can handle all the regular operations.
Galaxy Tab S4 Price
Samsung will be more practical about the pricing factor as it will help the company to push the sales. The pricing should be in line with the Tab S3, which currently sits around $599/£599 (around AU$780). Hence, Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 will be priced somewhere near $600 that will include a stylus, but the keyboard will cost some extra bucks.
Anyway, the premium tablet is bound to get cheaper in its next generation.
Galaxy Tab S4 Release Date
Its still time that we can actually see the launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. Going by the history, there were around 18 months of gap between the release of Galaxy Tab S2 and Galaxy Tab S3. Thus the launch of Galaxy Tab S4 runs to September 2018, which is almost two months away.
Some rumors also indicated the launch of Galaxy Tab S4 alongside Galaxy S9, but that would not be a wise choice from the South Korean multinational conglomerate. Therefore, unveiling the slate at IFA 2018 would be a much better pick for the company, as it will accompany the Samsung Gear S4 smartwatch.
